What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a global wireless standard specification for seamlessly interconnecting mobile and stationary computing devices. Bluetooth wireless technology specifies how mobile phones, PDAs and computers exchange data and voice communications. Bluetooth is composed of a radio transmitter and receiver unit that operates at 2.4 gigahertz, the same frequency as WiFi, and can transmit data at rates up to 2 megabits per second. Bluetooth is seamlessly integrated in Bluetooth-enabled devices and begins when activated by the end-user.
